Yantai China Timepiece Museum is a nationwide and professional museum and it ' s so far the only timepiece museum of China, which aims to display and research Chinese chronograph development history 、 show and publicize the achievement of Chinese modern timepiece industry 、 exhibit and collect timepiece collections at all times and in all over the world 、 spread and popularize knowledge of science and technology in timing field. The museum is located on the famous resort named Yantai Mountain with the building area of more than 1700 square meters. It is supported by Yantai People ' s Government 、 China Timepiece Association and China Chronograph History Institute; and is sponsored by the deputy director of China Timepiece Association -Yantai Polaris Corporation.

The first period exhibits in the museum are as follows: 《 Display of Chinese chronograph course of historical change and development 》 in the first exhibition hall. By showing ancient clocks 、 replicas and pictures with notes, it introduces the developing process of Chinese chronograph from ancient times to today , shows the close connection of the developing process with Chinese culture history and shows the contributions that Chinese people made to the invention and development of chronograph. 《 Display of Yantai timepiece brief history 》 in the second exhibition hall. By showing one hundred old clocks and watches and a large quantity of related pictures and introduction datum, it introduces the establishment and development history of timepiece industry of Yantai as the birthplace of China modern timepiece industry from 1915, and reflects the development course of China national timepiece industry from a lateral side. 《 Display of timepiece and home articles 》 in the third exhibition hall. By resetting home furnishings scenes of several characteristic ages from 1920s to now, it reflects the developing trace of timepiece along with the growth of society and also reflects its change in family use. 《 Display of fine works 》 in the fourth exhibition hall. It exhibits foreign distinctive clocks from nineteenth century collected by the museum and representative products made by domestic clock factories during recent years, it reflects developing trend of timepiece products. 《 Display of timepiece art 》 in the fifth exhibition hall. By showing a series of timepiece products with high artistic quality, it reflects the external aesthetic value of timepiece as a combination of art and science and technology. In addition, the museum opens timepiece assembling demonstration room; audience can alone assemble movements of mechanical pendulum clock and quartz clock under the guidance of professionals and also can keep them as a souvenir. The exhibits in every exhibition hall have high historical culture connotation with natures of knowledge 、 interest 、 appreciation and participation.

The second project of the museum will open four exhibition halls: 《 The world timepiece show 》 、《 Display of China name brand timepiece quality goods 》 、《 Display of timepiece science and technology 》 、《 Timepiece collection invitation show 》 . It will also open antique timepiece exhibiting and selling department and souvenirs sales department.
